In May 2022, the New Delhi Metro station opened for domestic aircraft check-in and bag drop services. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has now declared that travelers on overseas planes would now be able to use this service.

When flying internationally on Air India or Vistara Airlines, passengers can check in their bags at the Shivaji Stadium or New Delhi metro stations. Automated systems will securely convey their bags straight to the aircraft.

This new amenity is available to customers flying with Air India from 6am to 9pm at the Shivaji Stadium or New Delhi stations, and to passengers flying with Vistara from 6am to 8pm at the New Delhi station. International travelers have four to three hours prior to departure to check in.

Early in June, the service was introduced in association with Vistara Airlines, Air India, and Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). To facilitate travel through the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the DMRC has extended an invitation to additional airlines to adopt the service.
